Product Overview
Engineered to provide an ISO Class 5 (Class 100) particle-free environment. MTI’s LAF units ensure absolute product protection by delivering a unidirectional stream of sterile air, minimizing cross-contamination risks.
Working Principle
The Laminar Air Flow system operates by drawing air through a Pre-filter (5-micron efficiency) using a high-efficiency blower. This pre-filtered air is then pressurized into a plenum and passed through a HEPA filter (0.3-micron efficiency, 99.97% retention). The result is a unidirectional (laminar) stream of sterile air that sweeps across the work area, removing particulate matter and protecting the product from contamination.
Types of Airflow Configurations
Horizontal LAF
In Horizontal LAF, sterile air flows from the back HEPA filter directly towards the operator. This design ensures that particulate matter is swept away from the critical work zone immediately. It provides the highest level of product protection.

Vertical LAF
In Vertical LAF, clean air flows from the ceiling-mounted HEPA filter downwards. This configuration is preferred when working with larger equipment that might block horizontal airflow where uniform product protection is required and horizontal airflow may be obstructed.
